CARES Remote Health for Silver Europe Study Visit in Region Syddanmark
Best practices om innovative solutions in telecare and telemedicine
Two exiting days for the CARES Remote Health for Silver Europe Study Visit in Region Syddanmark, Syddansk Sundhedsinnovation.
Day one began with an address from Anja Lund, Chair of the political Council of Digitalization and Innovation in the Region of Southern Denmark, who highlighted the role of telemedicine in making healthcare more accessible and user-friendly. She emphasized the importance of enhancing digital skills among healthcare staff to better meet society’s needs.
Kurt Espersen, COO of the Health Innovation Center of Southern Denmark, introduced the Region of Southern Denmark’s Digitalization Strategy 2022-2024. This strategic plan aims to break down barriers to digital tools and increase public trust in digital health solutions, focusing on data security and patient safety.
Then followed two days with presentations of innovative Danish solutions in telecare and telemedicine and the partners from Poland, France, Sweden, Kroatia and Spain all presented their examples of best practices:
- Poland: Telecare system implementation presented by Pawel Rabiej
- Poland: TeleCareCOPD, teleconsultations and telemonitoring for COPD patients, improving access to care in peripheral areas. An example of innovative and coordinated care in Poland presented by Piotr Popowski
- France: Tele-expertice project presented by Marion SAINT-JAMMES, Christian Caubet and Marie-Laure Lafargue
- Sweden: EviDig presented by Katarina Mattsson
- Spain: SALUD and BP ATLAS presented by Carlos Anton Tomey and Barbara Quevedo
- Croatia: MEGI-Your Health Assistant, an app that reminds patients to measure their blood pressure and take medication, supporting both patients and doctors in health monitoring presented by Ino Protrka.
Cases from The Region of Southern Denmark were:
- Public-private partnerships with healthcare companies foster innovation. Each year, around 50 companies collaborate with the center to develop and test technologies, such as hydration monitoring systems, with the center connecting them to suitable medical facilities presented by Anne Friis Hansen
- The Geriatric patient & cross-sectorial collaboration presented by Karen Andersen-Ranberg
- The Geri-toolbox v. 2.0 presented by Alexander Eriksen
- The Prevention of AcuTe admIssioN Algorithm (PATINA) presented by Anders Fournaise
- TeleKOL, a program supporting patients with chronic diseases. The TeleKit (tablet, blood pressure monitor, and other devices) enhances patient safety and enables specialists to monitor health more effectively presented by Kuno Kudajewski
- DataDonor, an app allowing residents to share health data for research purposes with full transparency and user control presented by Christian Mercado
- DELIVER, a project developing the digital skills of healthcare professionals, essential for the digital transformation of the health system presented by Linda Andersen Justi.
