JANE-2 - Networks of Expertise on Cancer

EU-project establishes an extensive network that connects cancer centres across Europe to increase the quality of cancer treatment and reduce inequality.

Purpose

The purpose of the Joint Action Networks of Expertise on Cancer, JANE-2, is to create seven EU networks of a new kind, entitled “Networks of Expertise” (NoEs) in the field of cancer across the EU, which will work at both national and EU level.

The aim is to improve the quality of care in order to meet the expected increase in the number of newly diagnosed cancer cases in Europe.

Background

The project aligns with Europe’s Beating Cancer Plan with the purpose of improving the quality of cancer care provided across Europe, in order to reduce inequalities in access to treatment and thereby improve treatment outcomes.

Health Innovation Centre of Southern Denmark’s role in the project is to participate in the evaluation work package by:

Contribute with knowledge about the European Joint Actions
Conduct evaluation tasks
Support the work package leadership

Deliverables

Development of an evaluation framework and annual satisfaction surveys.
Evaluation activities together with Lillebaelt Hospital and the other partnerships.
Professional support and handling of additional tasks.

Partners

Lillebaelt Hospital serves as work package leader for Work Package 3. The Danish partners in JANE‑2 also include the Region of Southern Denmark, Region Zealand, the Capital Region of Denmark, and Aarhus University Hospital. Across the project, there are a total of 121 partners from 29 countries.
