Meaningful days in Oslo at the EUnetCCC - European Network of Comprehensive Cancer Centres co-creation workshop on data collection to and from Molecular Tumour Boards
On June 15th - 16th 2026 Carsten Jensen participated as National Coordinator and Lead for eCAN Plus Joint Action Work Package 6 with Stine Hedegaard Reeler (Lead of SubTask 6.3 on virtual tumour boards), since we are working on a proof-of-concept development and use case testing of virtual tumour boards across European Cancer Centres.
Although the workshop focused on Molecular Tumour Boards, it became very clear that many of the core challenges are shared:
- The need for clear definitions of minimum data sets
- Assessment of digital readiness across Europe
- Strengthened interoperability
- The exploration of platforms that can enable cross-border clinical collaboration.
- These themes are highly relevant for eCAN Plus, where we are specifically exploring how virtual tumour boards can be implemented and integrated into clinical practice, esplains Carsten Jensen.
In this context, I had the pleasure of presenting findings from our umbrella rapid review as well as a European survey mapping 25 Comprehensive Cancer Centres and their digital readiness.
Many thanks to the organizers Live Fagereng and Divya Sri Priyanka Tallapragada, PhD for a well-structured and highly engaging workshop, as well as to all participants for the inspiring discussions.
We are looking forward to bringing these insights into our continued work in eCAN Plus Joint Action.
