Together in Health

The project “Together in Health” is developing and testing a tailored app for young people between 13 and 18 years old.

Mia is a 16-year-old girl who struggles with anxiety and often feels overwhelmed in social situations.

The “Together in Health” project is developing and testing a tailored app for young people like Mia. The app will have a simple and calming design that helps her take small steps towards finding the right sports community.

The app aims to:

  • Promote physical activity
  • Support young people in finding meaningful communities
  • Provide young people with resources for managing mental health issues.

The background for the project is that many young people are experiencing increasing mental health troubles - stress, anxiety, depression, and other mental health issues. At the same time, a more inactive lifestyle leads to physical health problems, such as obesity and poor physical condition.

The project focuses on young people between 13 and 18 years old and the connected professionals from school and leisure activities.

The ambition of the project is to motivate, inspire, and guide young people in vulnerable positions to become more physically active through both digital and hands-on efforts. The goal is to improve both their physical and mental health.

In the project, we collaborate with professionals from all relevant parties: DGI (Danish Gymnastics and Sports Association) and local sports associations, several municipalities across the country, the Center for Digital Psychiatry, the University of Southern Denmark, the Research Unit for General Practice Odense-Esbjerg, and Regional Development in the Region of Southern Denmark - so we together can create an inclusive and supportive environment where young people between 13 and 18 years old can develop healthy habits and strengthen their well-being.

Thank you to the Novo Nordisk Foundation for both the trust and the funds that make this important project possible.
