The Strengths of the Danish Partners in eCAN Plus Joint Action

Improved cancer care across Europe through digital innovation

On June 16th, the Danish partners gathered at the Health Innovation Centre of Southern Denmark to get to know each other and align our shared tasks in the eCAN Plus Joint Action.

The Danish partnership brings together:

  • a strong mix of core competencies to the table — from clinical expertise, digital patient tools, to cross-sector collaboration and technical expertise –
  • thereby forming a solid foundation to help realize eCAN Plus Joint Action’s ambitious

Goal

The goal of eCAN Plus Joint Action is to improve cancer care across Europe through digital innovation.

Specifically, our combined skills support key pillars of the Joint Action:

  • Telemedicine and digital innovation in clinical settings, drawing on our experience in remote monitoring, patient engagement, and digital cancer care pathways
  • Upskilling healthcare professionals and citizens through targeted training in telemedicine, data management, and e-health tools - enabling coordinated and flexible treatments
  • Comprehensive landscape mapping of digital infrastructure, tools, and interoperability standards across cancer centers and sectors, to identify strengths, gaps, and opportunities.
  • Real-world testing of use case scenarios, where Danish partners help validate collaborative digital frameworks to improve clinical workflows, patient engagement, and health outcomes
  • Fostering collaboration within and between cancer centers, strengthening interdisciplinary network to drive innovation
  • Supporting cross-border health data sharing and reuse, by building on existing EU-frameworks such as MyHealth@EU, and European Electronic Health Record Exchange format (EEHRxF) for the benefit of cancer patients across the Union.

We look forward to making tangible progress in our shared mission of more cohesive, innovative, and data-driven cancer treatments — both in Denmark and across Europe.
