Day 1 og the study visit

On Tuesday, June 3rd, discussions focused on Data Governance Strategy and Digital Health Strategyfollowed by presentations of Good Practices from Poland, France, Denmark, and Sweden.

Zaragoza and Spain have made significant progress in adapting their infrastructure to meet European Data Health Space (EHDS) standards. These advancements will improve access to electronic health records within Spain and contribute to the development of EHDS.

In the afternoon, several Good Practices from the Aragón Region were presented, including the "Aragón Health School." Later, panel discussions on "Oncologic Precision Medicine Strategy," emphasizing personalized prevention and individualized treatment, took place.

Day 2 of the study visit

Wednesday, June 4th, began with a panel discussion on "Public Health – prevention, promotion, and protection" and "Building Healthy Communities."

This was followed by presentations of Good Practices from Italy, Croatia, and Poland. The day concluded with stakeholders visiting Aljafería Palace and partners conducting the PCT meeting.

We attended the study visit with three representatives from the Region of Southern Denmark.

Nanna M. L. Rasmussen, who works with the DataDonor app, discovered new possibilities for donating data to benefit our collective health. For further information about DataDonor, feel free to contact Nanna at nmr@rsyd.dk.

Carsten Jensen presented on "Skills in Digital Leadership" and emphasized the importance of providing education for health leaders to successfully navigate the digital transformation of healthcare.

Morten Givskud (morten.givskud@rsyd.dk) participated in the closing debate on "The role of technology in enhancing resource management in health and social care" and "Ensuring equity in access to advanced treatments and medical technologies in remote areas."

Closing remarks

Zaragoza is a beautiful city with a population of 700,000 residents. Aragón comprises 731 municipalities and covers over 10% of Spain's territory. It ranks as the second region in Spain for the percentage of the population over 80 years old. Their operations are guided by three principles:

  1. Equity, Universality, and Accessibility
  2. Patient Autonomy and Professional Support
  3. Integrated Digital Transformation.

One of the key objectives in their Health Strategy is to empower patients and healthcare providers.

Spain, like Denmark, is a partner in CARES and has a Digital Health Strategy covering 2021-2026. Spain faces similar challenges to Denmark, making the exchange of knowledge a valuable part of our partnership in CARES.
